Relaxer: Hair straightening for very curly Hair

What we use: We only use professional products. There are quite a number of different relaxer names.

How is it done: Hair is parted into 4 parts, then the protective gel is applied on the skin area around the scalp

Cream relaxer is the applied to the hair away from the scalp and left according to manufacturers instrucctions. Mainly 20 minutes

Hair is then  rinsed thoroughly to remove the cream completely. If left the chemical can react to the chemicals in the shampoo and cause damage.

The neautralising shampoo is then applied. The wash, Condition, rinse and style.

How long will it take: About 1.5 - 2 hrs

How do I maintain: Chemical will strip moisture and protein from the hair. We recommend you use a good moisturising every 2nd day

Deep conditioning treatment once every fortnight and a leave in conditioner everyday.

How long does it last: Hair that is permanently straightened will remain straight. New growth will be noticeable after at least 4 - 8 weeks.

When do I do the roots: Root straightening after 6 - 8 weeks.

KERATIN COMPLEX Conditioning

What is Keratin Complex:

What is perming: Making straight hair curly, or loosening tight c

Different chemicals are available for black and caucasion type hair

We carry services for all hair types

How long does it take: For Black hair: 3hrs

For other types of Hair: up to 2 hrs

Process (Black Hair): Presoftening cream is applied to the hair and left until hair is straight or softened.Approximately 30 - 45 minutes

2. Hair is washed and towel dried

3. A curl Booster is then applied. Rollers are selected according to the size of curles required. Then wind the hair in a brick layer pattern.

Leave to process for 30 - 45 minutes. Can apply heat if you need to.

4. Hair is washed and neutralised applied for 5 - 10 minutes.

Hair is towel dried. Rollers are removed and styled

Maintanance: You will need special curl activators and lotion for maintainance.

How long will it last: 12 weeks. After 12 weeks  you will need to do the root or new growth

What is texturising

Texturizers commonly use the chemical sodium hydroxide (lye). Hair contains proteins referred to as keratin amino acids. One of the major amino acids in keratin is cysteine. Cysteine contains a disulfide bridge, which causes the hair to kink and this is what makes the hair curly. Chemicals contained in texturizers such as lye break the hydrogen bonds of the disulfide bridge, altering the physical structure of each strand and loosening the curl.

How long does it take: 20 - 45 minutes

How is it applied: A chemical texturiser is applied to the hair about I cm from the scalp and combed through

Leave for 15 - 20 minutes( depending on manufacturer instruacitons.)

Wash, apply neutralising shampoo and rinse

Apply a hair leave conditioner

Towel dry, apply products made for curly hair for example curl activator.

Redo New growth after  6 - 8 weeks.

Hair Wefting or Weaving

What is it: Wefts are special hair that is held together by machine stitches. Wefts come in different colours and different textures

How is it attached to the hair: There are different methods of attaching wefts. In our salon the commonly prefered method is "braid and sew in"

How is it done: Client hair is parted in small section according to the selected style. Then own hair is braided with a little bit of hair additon to help with grip.

The weft piece is measured to fit the braided section, cut and sew in using the blanket stitches.

The process is repeated to cover whole or part head.

How long will it last: Approximately 4 - 8 weeks. This will mailnly depend on hair texture and care. If hair is washed frequently the braid will become loose.

How long does it take to do: Depending on requirement 1 line = 20 minutes, Full  head 1 - 2 hours.

How do I wash my hair:  Wash the hair gently once a week  and do not rub the braids undeneath.

Weft care: A good quality weft will be very easy to care. It is just like your hair

Good quality weft look natural, easy to take care and last longer.

Why do people wear wefts: People wear weft for different reasons: For Length, Volume, rest the hair form chemicals, people with curly/ straight hair and want to have a different style without affecting their natural hair

 What is glue extensions

These are strands of hair that are connected together glue. Have glue tip

How is it attached: Small amount of hair,( approximately same as the hair in the glue tip) parted and glue strand is attached using a special heat instrument

The process is repeated until whole head is finished

How many strands do I need: 100- 200

How long will it take to do: 3 - 4 hrs

What are pre- service preparations: Colour services should be performed 48 hrs before attaching extensions

How long will it last: 3 - 6 monhs

Will it damage my hair: No. Hair need to be attached properly and ahuold be taken off by proffessionals

How do I wash: Continue with you washing routine however use a mild shampoo.  Be carefiul when using heat instrument as if to close to glue tips  it will melt

As For glue and micro beading extension

What is the difference: The strand of hair  is already connected to the bead and loop. The stylist will only attach the strand onto your hair.

Very easy and quick method; It is heat and glue free.

How long does it take: Manicure = 30 minutes

Pedicure = 45 minutes.

We use Naked Natural Tan.  Takes 10 - 15 minutes. This is a quick drying / processing and you can have a bath after 2 hrs.

This is hair removal  technic using  thin thread instead of wax

It is a very popular hair removal technic used by women of Middle Eastern, Indian, Pakistan etc origin.  It is recomended for small areas such as eye brows, lip, face.

This service is available  in  the salon on Monday and Thursday only.  

DREADLOCKS: These is matted hair

How is it done: Hair is backcombed., tied and then perm solution applied to each strand. Leave according to manufacturers instruction, about 20 - 30 minutes depending on the hair texture. Apply neutralizing solution and leave for about 5 - 10 minutes. Dry under the hood dry till hair is very dry

Apply dreadlock wax in each strand

How long will it take: About 3 - 6 hours depending on the size and length.

How do I maintain my dreadlocks: Do not wash for the first three weeks if you can.

Wax your dread  once a week in the first 3 months.

Twist your dreads frequently

Wash using claryfying shampoo that will remove the build up of wax.  Alternatively you can purchase special shampoos for dreadlocks

Twist, twist, and wax, wax and you will have the nicest dreadlocks

We recommend to visit the salon to tighten the roots  after 3 - 6 months
